English Walnut Console Table
Console table made from English Walnut (juglans regia) with Maple (acer nigrum) cross-brace and feet details.
I am very fond of console tables. They sit quietly at the side of the room: slender, elegant, but making quite a statement. I enjoy the space underneath the table that just begs to showcase an interesting shaped or sculptural element.
The main wood in the piece is English Walnut, cut down from a private garden in South Oxfordshire. I chose the wood to match the requirements around the piece - the straighter grains being used on the underframe, and a more wild-figured piece celebrated on the top.
Finally I added a contrasting cross-brace in American Maple, shaped into irregular waves.
Dimentions: 120cm long x 25cm deep x 75cm high.
